The AD8400ARZ100 is a versatile digitally controlled variable resistor device that offers single, dual, or quad channel options to meet various application requirements. With 256 position resolution, this device functions as a potentiometer or variable resistor, providing precise electronic adjustment capabilities. The AD8400 features a single variable resistor in a compact SO-8 package, while the AD8402 offers two independent variable resistors in a space-saving SO-14 surface mount package. Additionally, the AD8403 includes four independent variable resistors in 24-lead PDIP, SOIC, and TSSOP packages. Each part incorporates a fixed resistor with a wiper contact that taps the resistor value based on the digital code loaded into the controlling serial input register. The linear variation of resistance between the wiper and the endpoints of the fixed resistor is programmable, offering flexibility and control. With a ±1% channel-to-channel matching tolerance and a nominal temperature coefficient of 500 ppm/°C, the AD8400ARZ100 ensures accuracy and reliability in diverse settings. Furthermore, its unique switching circuit minimizes glitches typically associated with switched resistor designs, ensuring seamless operation without make-before-break or break-before-make scenarios
