In addition to its balancing capabilities, the EMB1428 also seamlessly interfaces with the EMB1499 DC/DC controller, effectively controlling and enabling charging and discharging modes. Its SPI bus feature allows for seamless communication with the main controller (CPU/MCU), enabling the EMB1428 to accept commands on which battery cells should be charged or discharged, and to report any faults back to the main controller
