FDC37B72x provides an integrated keyboard interface, SMSC's true CMOS 765B floppy disk controller,one Multi-Modeparallel port (includes: ChiProtectTM circuitryplus EPP and ECP support), softpower management, SMI support, andIntelligent Power Management (includes: PMEand SCI/ACPI support).

CMOS 765B core provides 100%compatibility withIBM PC/XTTMand PC/ATTMarchitecturesin addition to providing data overflow andunderflow protection.Bothon-chip UARTs are compatible withthe NS16C550A. The parallel port iscompatible with IBM PC/ATTMarchitecture, aswell as EPPand ECP. This product incorporates sophisticated power controlcircuitry(PCC) which provides support for multiple low powerdown modes. Itincludes keyboard, mouse, modem ring, powerbutton support and otherwake-up events.

The device provides for therecommended functionality to supportWindows '95/’98 and PC98/PC99.Through internal configuration registers, eachof the FDC37B72x's logicaldevice's I/O address, DMA channel and IRQ channelmay be programmed.
