The LM120H-12 is part of the LM120 series, which comprises three-terminal negative regulators designed to deliver fixed output voltages of −5V, −12V, and −15V with a load current capability of up to 1.5A. For applications requiring different output voltages, the LM137 and LM137HV series offer a broader output voltage range of −1.2V to −47V, providing flexibility to users. The LM120 series is known for its ease of application, requiring only a compensation capacitor at the output. Despite variations in line, load, or temperature, these regulators offer worst-case specifications on output voltage deviation to ensure reliable system operation. The LM120 Series is engineered to withstand overload conditions, featuring independent current limiting and thermal overload protection. With internal current limiting and thermal shutdown mechanisms, these regulators effectively protect against momentary faults and prolonged overload, ensuring safe junction temperatures.
