The TCA9517DR is a highly flexible I2C bus buffer with a hot-swap capability, manufactured by Texas Instruments. It operates as a dual supply translating IC that allows voltage level translation between input and output ports. This device supports a voltage range between 1.2V and 3.6V on the A-side, and 1.65V to 5.5V on the B-side.The TCA9517DR features a low ON-state resistance of 4Ω, ensuring minimal signal distortion and low power consumption. It is also equipped with a fast-mode Plus (Fm+) compatible bus buffer, enabling data transmission up to 1MHz. The device is available in a small 8-pin SOIC package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications.Furthermore, the TCA9517DR incorporates thermal shutdown protection, preventing the device from overheating under fault conditions. It also has a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, ensuring reliable performance in various environments.
