PLX

PLX Technology, originally founded in 1986, was a company specializing in providing high-speed connectivity solutions primarily in the form of semiconductor devices and integrated circuits. The company focused on developing PCI Express (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) and other high-speed interconnect products for a wide range of applications.

PLX was well-known for its PCIe switches and bridges, which played a crucial role in enabling high-speed data transfer and connectivity within computing systems. Their products were utilized in various industries, including networking, storage, servers, industrial applications, and embedded systems.

In 2012, Avago Technologies acquired PLX Technology, integrating its portfolio of high-speed interconnect products into Avago's offerings. Later, in 2016, Avago Technologies itself merged with Broadcom Limited, forming Broadcom Inc., a major player in the semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions industry.

As a result of these mergers and acquisitions, the PLX Technology brand and product line were integrated into the broader portfolio of semiconductor solutions offered by Broadcom Inc.
