The AFE5812ZCF represents a major breakthrough in analog front-end (AFE) technology, specifically tailored for ultrasound systems that demand both exceptional performance and a compact footprint. This highly-integrated AFE solution features a complete time-gain-control (TGC) imaging path and a CWD path, with the added flexibility of selecting from various power/noise combinations to optimize system performance. This adaptability makes the AFE5812 an ideal choice for a wide range of ultrasound applications, from high-end systems to portable ones. With the inclusion of eight channels of voltage controlled amplifier (VCA), 14 and 12-bit ADC, and CW mixer, the AFE5812 offers a comprehensive solution with programmable gain options and low-pass filtering to support different ultrasound frequencies. Additionally, the AFE5812 integrates a low-power passive mixer and summing amplifier for on-chip CWD beamforming, featuring 16 selectable phase-delays and third- and fifth-order harmonic suppression for enhanced sensitivity. The AFE5812 also incorporates a digital in-phase and quadrature demodulator and low-pass decimation filter to reduce data rate and improve power efficiency, while maintaining high resolution output. With a compact 15-mm × 9-mm, 135-pin BGA package and a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, the AFE5812 sets a new standard for ultrasound AFE solutions
