Meet the LM27222M, a dual N-channel MOSFET driver specially engineered for driving MOSFETs in push-pull configurations commonly found in synchronous buck regulators. By taking the PWM output from a controller, the LM27222M ensures precise timing and drive levels for the power stage MOSFETs, optimizing the overall performance of the system. Its adaptive shoot-through protection feature effectively prevents harmful shoot-through currents, maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the design. Moreover, the adaptive protection circuitry reduces dead time to as little as 10ns, guaranteeing exceptional operating efficiency. With peak sourcing and sinking currents of around 3A and 4.5A respectively per driver at a Vgs of 5V, and propagation delays kept to a minimum of 8ns, the LM27222M delivers superior system performance. Additionally, the LM27222M supports synchronous, non-synchronous, and diode emulation modes through the LEN pin to enhance efficiency across various load conditions. Offering a minimum output pulse width of 30ns, the LM27222M enables high operating frequencies and efficient conversion ratios in buck regulator designs. Furthermore, with a low power consumption of just 5µA from the 5V rail in inactive states, the LM27222M is a practical choice for power-conscious notebook systems
